You shouldn’t chase after the past
or place expectations on the future.
What is past
is left behind.
The future
is as yet unreached.
Whatever quality is present

you clearly see right there,
right there.

what should be done today,

Warm greetings Everyone,

Starting on November 19th, we'll be holding a four-week meditation course called 'Objects of Development'. The course will focus on teaching the theory and practice of meditation in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. The course will be led by Bhante Joe.

Participants will learn ...
*To develop a daily meditation practice
*To explore and choose an appropriate meditation topic
*To understand the basic theory behind the development of the mind
*To optionally connect with a community to support practice after the course is finished

The course is primarily intended for beginners, but is basically open to anyone who would like to meditate. Well be conducting the course sessions on ZOOM. There's also the option to continue the discussion in between sessions on the Dhamma-Vinaya Patipada Discord server.

Sessions will take place over four consecutive Sunday starting November 19th -- 9am to 10:30am Toronto time (EST), 7:30pm to 9pm Colombo time (IST).

On October 1st, I'm planning to participate in the Metta Convention. This a weeklong convention organized by the Metta Centre in Australia.

Myself and another monastic, Brother Tenzin, will be sharing a session. The session is on the traditional Buddhist practice of wandering. It is scheduled for October 1st, from 3.45 - 4.30pm, Sydney time. More information is available here...

Mahatthayas Hiran, Madura, and Chandana came by the kuti for the day to pracitce meditation. They did some meditation in the morning. In the afternoon, we had a Dhamma discussion and they went to visit the forest. They headed home in the evening after a Q & A. Nice to see their interest in bhavana.
